The Juniper Green Community Market continues this coming weekend: 23rd March from 9am-1pm in the car park of the dental surgery on Lanark Road opposite Juniper Avenue.
The usual range of stalls will be present with bread, meat, cheese, veg and sweets to delight. In addition, the stallholder selling venison, pheasant, duck etc is back for a third month. Unfortunately, the stall selling Doggie treats will not be back. Other stalls include fudge and soap More details of the stallholders in the attachment.
The community stall this month has been taken by the Juniper Green Bowling Club who will be on hand to tell you about their events, how to get involved and join them for some healthy competitive exercise.
Market goers can enjoy too entertainment this month provided by the Scots Music Group ceilidh band with some great jigs and reels so bring your dancing shoes!! Scots Music Group is a community-based charity located in Edinburgh who run traditional music classes for adults, informal sessions, ceilidhs, and many other social events. We expect some of our local councillors will be on duty ready to explain any outcomes of the Local Development Plan being discussed on Tuesday 19th March where implications for Juniper Green are likely to be highlighted.
We hope too that one of our local policemen will be present as usual to consult on problems of security or traffic issues.
If you are a parent at the Juniper Green Primary School and you have comments about the new pavement and turning circle at the top of Baberton Avenue please make your views known to one of the community councilors on duty on Saturday, they are the ones in the tee shirts!

JUNIPER GREEN TENNIS CLUB OPEN DAY
SATURDAY 6 April 2013 11.30am-2.30am
The tennis club is opening its gates to host an open day on Saturday 6 April 2013 and encourages everyone to come down and see what the club, at the heart of the Juniper Green community, has to offer for them.
As well as on court junior coaching lead by British Tennis qualified, new club coach Eoin Swan there will be fun off court activities including refreshments, table tennis, face painting and a bouncy castle for the younger tennis players among us!
The open day will provide a taster for parents and children into the upcoming junior coaching programme beginning in April 2013 which will offer professional, fun and affordable lessons on Friday afternoons for children of all ages and abilities.
The open day is not just for children however, the club extends a warm welcome to new adult members looking to get involved in tennis.
The club particularly focuses on the importance of “social tennis” providing members with a social network to link with other members of the club. With regular match play mornings, family events and social tournaments days Juniper Green tennis club ensures a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to encourage everyone to play tennis. We hope to see you and the whole family at the open day!
